How I picture my cells when I trypsinize them.
Cells are grown in petri dishes or in flasks. Once they reach confluence (they cover the whole surface), we need to lift them to seed them in new flasks, so that they can keep growing. To detach the cells, we generally use an enzyme called trypsin. After a few minutes, cells detach and start floating in the flask.
